Phoenix Cleaning Company looking back on a challenging but rewarding year!
It’s extraordinary to think that we’ve now been under the constraints of the Pandemic for just short of a year. It’s hit lives and livelihoods but we’re proud to say that, as a fledgling business, we have come through it stronger and wiser, with more ideas, and more expertise to support our customers.
Whilst it’s not over yet and the challenges continue, what is especially gratifying is that we can review 2020 with more than a degree of pride and achievement; at how we’ve kept servicing our loyal customers, adapted to the ever-changing regulations and put on a smile to head out and provide you with cleaning services.
When we launched Phoenix Cleaning Company in late 2018 we had a simple vision – we wanted to ‘create the very best Commercial Cleaning Business based on our long standing experience in the industry, customer service, high quality work and delivery, an engaged and trained team, and a desire to give back to the communities we serve’. How have we measured up?

✓ Increased annual turnover by 40% year on year, despite 90% less than usual t/o in April & 80% in May

Taking time to learn through training
Appropriate qualifications and accreditations are vital in our industry and to our ability to service customers. Where Covid has permitted we have all continued to improve our own knowledge and qualifications through individual training programmes, resulting in a number of new accreditations:
✓ PASMA – International association for the mobile access tower industry
✓ Updated emergency First Aid at work qualifications
✓ iPAF – International Powered Access Federation -1a, 3a & 3b
✓ Harness training
✓ CSCS cards
Giving back through sponsorship and community support
Giving back to our local communities remains very important to us all so we’ve continued to invest in causes close to our hearts, taking on initiatives that directly support others. Despite the Pandemic we are pleased with everything we have managed to achieve:
✓ Taken the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge in September raising funds for Alzheimer’s Society and Cash for Kids
✓ UKHA Meeting sponsor – sponsored the wine/beers/soft drinks
✓ Cash for Kids – bought 12 gifts sets for children who may otherwise have missed out on Xmas gifts
✓ Morley Beer Festival – name a barrel of beer. The winner with ‘squeaky clean’, Simon Barraclough, is still owed 4 pints when the event takes place!
✓ Free clean for a Key Worker – Gutter clean won by a Neonatal Nurse at Calderdale Hospital
✓ Horbury Town kit sponsor draw
✓ Robin Hood Athletic – bought training balls for the new season

Saying thank you!
It’s worth reminding ourselves that 2 years ago we launched a business with no contracts or jobs on the board. Year one saw us thrive and grow through hard work and sticking to our principles. Never could we have imagined when we were writing our review of 2019 and looking forward, that our second full year of trading would feature so many bumps on the road! But the above speaks for itself and we are supremely confident about our future.
